Summary GiftTrees × SumUp App – Development Brief Please review the attached GiftTrees POS Partner Integration Documentation as the primary functional specification for the integration. We do require somebody that has proven experience in developing integrations/apps for sumup and will request examples of previous work. Our objective is to develop a self-service GiftTrees app for the SumUp hospitality epos platform, consistent with our existing integrations for providers such as Square, Clover and other supported ePOS systems. Key Requirements Develop a native SumUp integration that automatically adds the GiftTrees contribution when the configured bill threshold is met. Support the full GiftTrees API lifecycle: Operating Company creation Restaurant/location installation Restaurant activation Transaction submission Restaurant deactivation/uninstall Support all standard GiftTrees functionality including configurable thresholds, contribution values, receipt explainer, opt-out capability, reporting and transaction submission in line with the attached API specification. Integration with Existing GiftTrees Platform A key requirement is that the SumUp app must integrate with the existing GiftTrees Administration Panel developed by Evolution. The app should consume the existing GiftTrees APIs and work seamlessly with the current administration platform rather than introducing separate administration functionality. This includes supporting existing administrative controls such as: Restaurant activation/deactivation Threshold management Contribution amount management Receipt explainer management Merchant and location management Status monitoring Existing onboarding and transaction workflows The intention is that all ePOS integrations share a common administration platform, ensuring a consistent onboarding experience, operational process and future maintenance model. Technical Discussion During the discovery session we would like to understand: The preferred SumUp architecture for this type of application. Whether merchants can self-authorise and install the app without manual intervention. Available APIs and webhooks for transaction processing. Authentication and permission model. Marketplace publication process (if applicable). Any platform limitations that may require design changes. Our goal is to deliver a scalable integration that fits within the existing GiftTrees ecosystem with minimal platform-specific custom development while leveraging the proven GiftTrees API and administration platform already in production.
