Summary We are building a custom CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) web application for a custom window coverings company. Our primary challenge: Each supplier calculates pricing differently. We need a configurable rule-based pricing engine that: • Accepts width, height, product, fabric, control type, and options • Applies supplier-specific rounding rules • Enforces min/max size restrictions • Applies compatibility logic (fabric, motor, control type, etc.) • Pulls pricing from supplier grids • Applies surcharges and freight rules • Calculates true cost, margin, and sell price • Prevents invalid configurations This is NOT a simple calculator. This is a structured pricing and rule engine. We are looking for someone with experience in: • CPQ systems • ERP pricing engines • Rule-based system design • Complex product configuration logic • Backend system architecture Bonus: • Experience building SaaS products • Experience with manufacturing or custom product pricing We do NOT need a junior developer. We need someone who understands how to architect complex business logic. Please provide: • Examples of similar systems built • Explanation of how you would structure a supplier rule engine • Tech stack recommendation
