Description
Summary Remote, Monthly Retainer I run a small automation consultancy in Los Angeles. I scope and sell the work. I need someone to build it. Projects vary. Voice agents, workflow automations, API integrations, internal tools, dashboards. Different stack almost every time depending on what the client already uses. You will not be handed a familiar problem twice in a row. What the job actually is: I give you a scoped brief. You figure out how to build it, using Claude Code and whatever else gets there. You tell me when my brief is wrong or missing something instead of building it anyway. You ship working systems, not demos. What I need from you: You use AI tools constantly and by default, not as a last resort You can pick up an unfamiliar tool or API and be productive in it the same day You work independently for stretches. I'm in the Marine Corps Reserve and I'm unreachable some weeks You reply fast and you write clearly You say "I don't know yet" instead of guessing What I don't care about: degrees, years of experience, or whether you've used my exact stack before. Terms: Monthly retainer, paid on a fixed date. Starts at a defined workload and goes up as my client volume goes up. This is an ongoing role, not gig work. I want one dedicated developer, not a rotating bench. To apply, send: 1. One thing you built recently, what broke, and how you fixed it. Three to five sentences. 2. A client wants an AI phone agent that answers calls, books appointments on their calendar, and texts a confirmation. That's the whole brief I was given. What do you need to know before you'd start building, and what would worry you about this? Start your proposal with the word build.
