Description

We're a small non-profit Bible teaching and sobriety-house ministry (actlikemen.org) with a limited budget, looking for a WordPress developer to fix a broken search function and clean up several site issues identified in an audit. The listed budget reflects Phase 1 only, which is where we'd like to start and revisit later phases as budget allows — please quote Phase 1 separately from the rest. Phase 1 — Fix broken search (start here) Our native WP search currently redirects to the homepage instead of showing results. Install/configure the official "WP Search with Algolia" plugin: set up Algolia account & API keys, connect plugin, index sermon posts (title, series, scripture reference, excerpt), set as default search, test with sample queries. Estimated: 3–6 hours. Phase 2 — Navigation cleanup (optional, quote separately) Consolidate 3 overlapping sermon nav paths into one clear path. Add filter/sort to the 90+ item Sermons by Series page (by scripture book, topic, or date). Add breadcrumbs to series/message pages. Remove duplicated header/nav code in page source. Phase 3 — Content cleanup (optional, quote separately) Remove test/placeholder posts live in production. Fix stale footer copyright year. Standardize series page entries missing images/descriptions.
