Summary We're building a digital product for professional and semi-professional athletes, and we need a Design Engineer to help shape and ship it. This is a hands-on hybrid role. You'll design product experiences and implement them yourself in our Next.js codebase — not hand mockups to someone else. The product leans heavily on AI-generated content, LLM APIs and AI video tools, so you'll be designing interfaces around output that varies in length, structure and quality. That's a specific design problem and we want someone who finds it interesting. What you'll work on Athlete profiles, dashboards, reports and insights Responsive, mobile-first interfaces built as reusable Next.js components Features powered by LLMs that generate and transform content AI video-generation integrations Loading, processing, empty and error states — the states that make AI products feel solid Interface copy Our stack Next.js · TypeScript · Tailwind · React · LLM APIs · Vitest + Testing Library. We use Claude Code and similar AI dev tools and expect you to as well — while reviewing the output critically. What we're looking for Strong UI/UX design skills AND strong Next.js/React development experience — genuinely both Experience designing and shipping production interfaces Solid grasp of design systems, accessibility, typography, spacing, visual hierarchy Comfortable integrating APIs and building with LLMs Comfortable with incomplete requirements — you'll help shape the product, not just execute tickets Bonus Sports, fitness, coaching, performance or athlete-facing products.
