Description

Summary We're a small business looking for a developer to build a custom MCP (Model Context Protocol) server so our team can use Claude to interact directly with one of our core business tools. Scope of work: - Build an MCP server that exposes read/write actions against our tool's API (API key will be provided to the selected freelancer) - Follow the MCP specification so the server works cleanly with Claude (Claude Desktop / Claude Agent SDK / Claude Code) - Implement core operations we need (e.g. reading records, creating/updating records, basic search) - we'll confirm the exact endpoint list at kickoff - Handle auth securely using the provided API key (env var / secrets, not hardcoded) - Basic error handling and clear logging - Short README covering setup, configuration, and how to run/connect the server What we'll provide: - API key and API documentation for the target tool - Access to a test/sandbox account where available What we're looking for: - Solid experience with Node.js or Python and REST APIs - Familiarity with (or fast ability to pick up) the Model Context Protocol (MCP) - prior MCP server projects are a big plus - Comfortable working independently from a written spec, asking clarifying questions as needed - Good communication and ability to turn this around within a few weeks Please include examples of any previous MCP servers or API integrations you've built when you apply.
