Summary Overview Please do not submit a generic automation proposal. I am specifically looking for a developer with experience integrating APIs and building booking/calendar logic for vacation rental platforms. I manage a portfolio of furnished rental properties using Hostaway as our Property Management System (PMS) and channel manager. Our inventory is distributed through our direct booking website (Hostaway Booking Engine/Wander) as well as Airbnb, and other OTAs Most of our Toronto listings have a 30-night minimum stay. I want to enable Instant Booking while preventing reservations that create small, difficult-to-fill vacancy gaps between bookings. Hostaway does not currently provide this functionality natively, so I am looking for an experienced developer to build a reliable automation using the Hostaway Public API. Business Objective The goal is to maximize occupancy while maintaining Instant Booking. The automation should intelligently control booking availability so guests cannot create small vacancy gaps that are unlikely to book, while still allowing reservations that efficiently fill the calendar. Desired Booking Logic Initial rules are: 30-night minimum stay Maximum 3-night vacancy gap for 1-bedroom listings Maximum 5-night vacancy gap for 2- and 3-bedroom listings The solution should automatically recalculate calendar restrictions whenever a reservation is: Created Modified Cancelled The automation should apply the appropriate Hostaway calendar controls so the restrictions synchronize to our direct booking website and connected OTAs wherever supported. Functional Requirements The solution should: Connect securely to the Hostaway Public API Receive Hostaway webhooks (or another reliable trigger) Read reservations and calendar availability Calculate whether a proposed booking would create an unacceptable vacancy gap Apply and remove calendar restrictions automatically Preserve manual calendar blocks and restrictions created by our team Automatically update restrictions when reservations change or are cancelled Include logging and basic error notifications Be easy to understand and maintain Technology I am open to the developer's recommendation.
