Description

Overview We're looking for an experienced WordPress plugin developer to build a custom access-control and attendee-tracking plugin from scratch. This is a focused, well-scoped project with a firm deadline — we need someone who can move fast, communicate clearly, and deliver clean, documented code. Individuals only. No agencies. What You'll Build A custom WordPress plugin that: - Gates selected WordPress event pages behind a branded access form (no page content or layout changes) - Collects attendee information (first name, last name, email, shared event code, terms acceptance) - Optionally sends a numeric email verification code (configurable per event — no magic links) - Logs attendee access activity (first access, most recent access, return visits, IP, device/browser) - Supports multiple independent events from a single plugin installation (multi-tenant architecture) - Provides a WordPress admin dashboard with per-event attendee lists, flagging, manual access override, and CSV export - Handles cache bypass so protected content is never exposed by server or plugin caching - Sets secure, event-specific cookies/sessions with automatic expiration Required Skills - Custom WordPress plugin development — built plugins from scratch, not just theme customization - PHP (intermediate to advanced) — hooks, filters, template_redirect, $wpdb, WP Options API - MySQL — custom table design, per-event data isolation - WordPress Admin UI — custom settings screens, dashboard pages, data tables
