Description
Summary Golden Home Access is a home accessibility installation company in Northern California. We install stair lifts, ramps, vertical platform lifts, grab bars, and handrails. We are looking for a technical systems/integration person to help us solve a specific operational problem: job-level gross margin and job costing. Today, this workflow is spread across Pipedrive, Jobber, Ply, QuickBooks Online, Zapier, and a Google Sheet. We need someone who can understand the current process, investigate the systems, define the right technical approach, and help implement a better workflow. Current Problem We need reliable job-level gross margin reporting. Our working gross margin definition is: Revenue minus equipment/material COGS minus job-specific subcontractor/site-prep COGS. Employee labor is not included in gross margin for our current purposes. Today: Pipedrive tracks leads, deals, source/campaign attribution, and deal amount Jobber tracks assessments, quotes, jobs, invoices, payments, and customer contracts Ply is intended to track inventory/material usage QuickBooks Online is our accounting system Zapier connects some workflows A Google Sheet currently tracks job revenue, COGS, gross margin, and sales commission manually The current system works enough to operate, but it is too manual and fragile. We want to understand the right way to connect these systems so that job revenue, material cost, subcontractor cost, gross margin, and commission eligibility can be tracked more accurately. Scope Of First Project The first phase will likely include discovery, technical research, documentation, and a proof of concept. We need someone to: Understand our current workflow across Pipedrive, Jobber, Ply, QuickBooks, Zapier, and Google Sheets Research how these systems should be connected Investigate APIs, integrations, webhooks, exports, and database options Understand how Ply should be set up for inventory and job-level material costing Understand how Jobber should represent revenue, expenses, job profit, invoices, and payments Understand how QuickBooks should receive or reflect COGS and inventory data Identify where human review is still required Define the right data model for job costing and gross margin Create a clear technical plan / PRD Potentially build a proof-of-concept database or workflow using real job examples The first goal is not to build a giant system immediately. The first goal is to understand the current process deeply and define a practical path forward. Possible Implementation Work Depending on discovery, implementation may include: Database design, likely Postgres/Supabase or similar API integrations with Pipedrive, Jobber, Ply, QuickBooks, or Google Sheets Improvements to Zapier workflows A lightweight internal app or review workflow Gross margin and commission tracking automation Reporting on job profitability Documentation for the ongoing process Relevant systems include: Pipedrive Jobber Ply QuickBooks Online Zapier Google Sheets Supabase / Postgres Slack Asana, possibly later Direct experience with every tool is not required, but you should be comfortable learning APIs and understanding messy business workflows. What We Are Looking For This is not just a coding task. We need someone who can think through business operations and technical systems together. Strong fit if you have experience with: API integrations Webhooks Workflow automation Database design Postgres / Supabase Zapier or similar tools CRM or field-service software QuickBooks Online or accounting integrations Inventory systems Job costing, COGS, or gross margin reporting Internal tools and dashboards Bonus if you have experience with: Pipedrive Jobber Ply QuickBooks Online API Contractor or field-service businesses Inventory/job-costing workflows Longer-Term Opportunity If the first project goes well, this could become a much larger ongoing role. We have broader technical needs, including: Ongoing management and maintenance of our systems Troubleshooting automations and integrations Improving Pipedrive, Jobber, Zapier, WordPress, and other tools Building internal dashboards and reporting Improving marketing attribution and gross-margin ROAS reporting Owning future technical projects across the business We are looking for someone practical, thoughtful, and long-term oriented. To Apply Please do not send a generic application. In your response, please include: A short description of a similar systems/integration or job-costing project you have worked on Which parts of our stack you have direct experience with How you would approach the first 1-2 weeks of discovery What you would want to inspect before proposing a technical solution Whether you prefer hourly, fixed project, or ongoing monthly work
