Description

I run a private, invite-only community platform built from scratch — not on WordPress or any other CMS. The backend is PHP with a MySQL database; the frontend is a single-page-style site built in vanilla HTML/CSS/JavaScript (no framework). Files (PDFs, videos, media) are currently served directly from the app server — part of this role will be setting up and integrating a CDN for file delivery once that's in place. I'm looking for a developer comfortable working directly with an existing custom codebase — reading and extending existing PHP endpoints, writing clean SQL migrations, and making frontend changes that match an already-established site style rather than starting from scratch. **Recent examples of the kind of work involved:** - Adding new database tables and PHP API endpoints for new features - Debugging and fixing backend/frontend mismatches (wrong field names, broken data flow) - Building small admin-panel tools for managing content and user submissions - General bug fixes and UI polish across an existing site **Looking for:** - Strong PHP + MySQL fundamentals (PDO, prepared statements) - Comfortable with plain JavaScript (no reliance on frameworks/libraries) - Experience setting up and integrating a CDN for media/file delivery - Able to work from an existing codebase and match its conventions, not rebuild it - Clear communicator — I'm not a developer myself, so I need someone who can explain changes in plain terms This is ongoing, as-needed work, not a one-time pr
