Summary **Upwork Job Description** Build Custom AI Phone Answering System with Vapi for Self-Storage + Property Management (Multi-Business) I’m looking for an experienced freelance developer to build a production-ready AI voice agent system using **Vapi** that can handle inbound calls for two separate businesses through a single intelligent phone system. The system must support two main businesses: 1. **Self-Storage Business** (two locations) - Climate-controlled storage - Non-climate-controlled storage 2. **Rental Property Management Business** ### Desired Call Flow When a caller dials in, the AI should first present two main options: - Self Storage - Rental Property Management **If they choose Self Storage:** - Ask whether they need Climate-Controlled or Non-Climate-Controlled - **Existing customers**: - Verify the caller’s identity (name + unit number or other verification method) - Once verified, answer questions such as: - “Did I pay my bill?” - “What is my gate code?” - The AI must pull real-time data from our storage management software - **Prospective customers**: - Tell them current availability - Quote accurate pricing - Optionally collect contact information or offer to schedule a visit **If they choose Rental Property Management:** - **Prospective tenants / general inquiries**: Collect name, phone number, email, and brief details so we can call them back - **Current tenants**: - Answer questions about outstanding balances - Answer questions about lease expiration dates - Pull this data from our property management software - **Emergencies**: - Collect full details (name, unit/property address, nature of emergency, contact number) - Immediately escalate by sending an SMS + email (and preferably WhatsApp) to a designated live person with all the information ### Technical Requirements - Built primarily with **Vapi** - Must be able to integrate with external software platforms (storage management system + property management system) to retrieve real-time data (availability, pricing, payment status, gate codes, balances, lease dates, etc.) - Secure identity verification process before releasing sensitive information (especially gate codes) - Support for multiple locations under the storage business - Ability to send outbound SMS, email, and WhatsApp notifications for emergency escalations - Clean, natural conversational flow (not robotic) - Logging of all calls and transcripts - Ability to transfer or escalate to a human when needed - Admin dashboard or simple way for me to update information (pricing, availability, specials, etc.) without needing a developer every time ### Deliverables 1. Fully functional Vapi-based voice agent 2. Integration with our existing software platforms (please ask me for details on the platforms we use) 3. Emergency escalation system (SMS + Email + WhatsApp preferred) 4. Documentation so I can maintain and update the system 5.
