Description

Summary API Integration Expert Needed – Service Fusion + Ply or Sortly Inventory Management We are looking for an experienced API integration developer to help us design and implement an inventory management system for our growing water treatment and radon company. We currently use Service Fusion as our CRM and field service platform. We are evaluating Ply and Sortly for inventory management and need an expert who understands APIs, automation, and inventory workflows to help us determine the best solution. Scope of Work * Evaluate the APIs for Service Fusion, Ply, and Sortly. * Recommend which inventory platform provides the strongest and most reliable integration with Service Fusion. * Design the overall workflow before development begins. * Build the API integration and any middleware that may be required. * Ensure inventory remains synchronized between systems. Desired Workflow We would like the system to support the following: * Automatically deduct inventory when technicians complete jobs in Service Fusion. * Allow inventory to be assigned to service trucks and warehouse locations. * Track inventory transfers between warehouse and vehicles. * Support barcode and QR code scanning. * Automatically update inventory quantities across all locations. * Notify us when inventory reaches minimum stock levels. * Generate purchase alerts or purchase orders when reorder points are reached. * Provide visibility into inventory usage by job, technician, and product. * Support kits or assemblies (for example, when selling a radon system or water treatment system, multiple individual components are deducted automatically). * Be scalable as our company continues to grow. Before Development Before writing code, we would like you to: 1. Review the available APIs. 2. Explain which platform (Ply or Sortly) is the better long-term solution with Service Fusion. 3. Show us how the integration would function. 4. Create a workflow diagram or mockup demonstrating: * Data flow between systems * Inventory movement * Job completion process * Reorder process * Overall user experience Ideal Experience * Service Fusion API * REST APIs * Inventory management systems * Ply and/or Sortly * Webhooks * Zapier, Make, or custom middleware (if appropriate) * ERP or warehouse management integrations Please include the following in your proposal: * Examples of similar API integrations you’ve completed. * Whether you’ve worked with Service Fusion, Ply, or Sortly. * Your recommendation for which inventory platform is the better fit and why. * Any suggestions you have for improving the workflow based on your experience. Our goal is to build a professional, scalable inventory system that seamlessly integrates with Service Fusion and supports our technicians, warehouse staff, and future growth.
