BuddyBoss / WordPress Developer — Contract Context: Skills at Will runs a training platform on WordPress + BuddyBoss + LifterLMS, with a separate Next.js frontend handling marketing and checkout (Stripe). You'll work alongside our backend developer supporting the community and LMS layer. You must be able to: Customize BuddyBoss Platform and BuddyBoss Theme via child theme and hooks — no core or plugin file edits, ever Extend LifterLMS: course access rules, enrollment logic, membership-to-course mapping, and custom hooks into completion/progress events Work with the WordPress REST API — build custom endpoints, and secure existing ones (nonce/auth validation, capability checks, rate limiting) Debug performance at scale: object caching, query profiling, media offload to S3, PHP-FPM tuning Handle community moderation tooling: BuddyBoss moderation, spam/link controls, member reporting flows Write clean PHP (8.x) following WordPress coding standards, with Git-based workflow — all work happens in our repo, no personal accounts Test in staging before anything touches production Nice to have: experience integrating WordPress with an external Next.js app (shared auth, webhooks), Stripe webhook handling, GoHighLevel or HubSpot API familiarity. How we work: async-first, tasks scoped in writing, staging environment provided. You'll coordinate with our existing backend developer on API contracts — you own the BuddyBoss/LMS side.
