Summary We have been selected to build the AI call center for a multi-location ophthalmology enterprise handling approximately 50,000 calls per year. The client wants to move quickly, and we are looking for an experienced Retell AI voice agent builder who can join our delivery team and begin immediately. You will start by building the first production implementation within the rollout. Strong performance will lead directly into deploying, adapting and improving the system across the wider enterprise. I run LASIK Growth, where we build AI voice agents and patient follow-up systems specifically for ophthalmology groups. Our existing system helped improve one client’s lead-to-booked-consultation rate from approximately 10% to around 20–30%. We now need someone who can take our proven framework and turn it into a reliable, production-ready voice agent inside Retell. This is not a generic chatbot role. The agent must be able to: Follow the correct conversational flow Trigger the correct functions at the right time Check available appointment slots Book consultations accurately Handle interruptions and unexpected responses Pass information cleanly into connected systems 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥 𝗥𝗢𝗟𝗘 We provide the strategy, patient journey and intended messaging flow. Your responsibility is to implement it properly inside Retell. You will: Build the AI voice agent in Retell Turn the copywriter’s Notion document into a working agent Write and structure the prompts Build the required nodes, branches and conversation logic Configure function calls correctly Set up appointment availability and booking functionality Handle edge cases and unexpected conversation paths Build the required GoHighLevel workflows using our existing Snapshot Implement the provided follow-up messaging and cadence Test and debug the full agent before launch Improve the agent using real call recordings and transcripts Collaborate closely with our copywriter and backend developer You are not responsible for creating the persuasion strategy or writing the entire conversation from scratch. You are responsible for turning the provided framework into an agent that works reliably in real patient conversations. 𝗧𝗘𝗔𝗠 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 Copywriter and strategist: Defines the messaging, patient journey and intended conversation flow. AI agent builder: Builds, tests and improves the agent inside Retell. Backend developer: Handles deeper integrations between Retell, GoHighLevel, Salesforce, calendars and other connected systems. You will not be expected to build every backend integration alone, but you must understand function calling and data flow well enough to implement and troubleshoot the agent properly. 𝗜𝗠𝗣𝗢𝗥𝗧𝗔𝗡𝗧 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗧 You will not be starting from a blank page. Our underlying ophthalmology patient journey is: Lead → Consultation Booked → Consultation Kept → Procedure Booked → Procedure Kept We already have: A proven patient-conversion framework Existing messaging and conversation flows Previous agent structures to build from A GoHighLevel Snapshot containing much of the required setup A copywriter and backend developer supporting the implementation The first production build will establish the foundation for the wider multi-location rollout. From there, the system will be adapted to each location’s appointment availability, workflows and operational requirements. You must be able to work quickly without sacrificing reliability, identify missing logic and think clearly about edge cases. Your main responsibility is the Retell implementation. 𝗪𝗛𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗜𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗙𝗢𝗥 You should have strong hands-on experience with: Retell AI Voice-agent prompt engineering Conversation, node and branching logic Function calling Appointment-booking workflows Testing and debugging AI agents GoHighLevel workflows and automations CRM, calendar or scheduling systems Experience with n8n, Make, Zapier or APIs is also valuable. You do not need previous ophthalmology experience. We will teach you the relevant business model and patient journey. You will begin with the first production implementation and work closely with our team to get it launched quickly. If your work is strong, you will continue into: Deployment across additional locations Ongoing testing and optimization Improvements based on real call data Further agent builds within the enterprise Potentially becoming our primary Retell AI agent builder The full rollout is expected to handle approximately 50,000 calls annually.
