Description

Overview: We need a WordPress developer for two tasks: (1) implementing about 100 redirects from a map we'll provide, and (2) permanently shutting down three regional site sections that are no longer active markets. Part 1 — Redirects Implement 301 redirects from a provided map (~100 URLs) Fix any redirect chains or loops Handle trailing slashes, query strings, and wildcards where needed Test in staging before pushing live Provide a QA report confirming each redirect works correctly Part 2 — Regional Shutdown Unpublish all content under three specific path prefixes (not just remove from menus) Configure those prefixes to return a proper 410 Gone status Update the site's crawl exclusion rules and remove those prefixes from the sitemap Submit removal requests in Google Search Console Confirm caching (we run a page cache plugin plus server-level caching) doesn't serve stale pages after this change Required skills Experience with WordPress redirects and site restructures at this scale Strong grasp of HTTP status codes (301 vs 410 vs 403) and SEO impact Comfortable with server config, not just plugins Careful, detail-oriented — mistakes here are costly Nice to have SEO background, multi-region WordPress experience, familiarity with Yoast/Rank Math Deliverables All redirects live and verified Three regional sections fully unpublished and returning correct status QA report + documentation of any unresolved URLs To apply: share (1) a similar project you've done, (2) your recommended
