Description

Summary Senior Product UI/UX Front-End Developer for SaaS Platform We are preparing a SaaS platform and need a senior product-minded UI/UX front-end consultant to help make the existing staging product intuitive, self-service, polished, and first-rate for users. This is a hands-on implementation role. We need someone who can review the existing product experience, identify UX/UI gaps and improvement opportunities, make practical product judgments, and directly implement approved improvements in the application. This is not a greenfield redesign. The product already exists in dev and staging and has, among other things, supporting Figma designs, Figma comments, Jira tickets, roadmap requirements. The goal is to materially improve what users experience in the platform, not restart the product. The work must stay within an already defined product scope. We are not looking to expand product scope, invent new features, rebuild the app, or restart the design system. Please start your proposal with “Lets go!” so we know you read the full post. What we need - Review the existing product - Review Figma designs, comments, Jira tickets, roadmap requirements, and QA checklist items - Identify UX/UI gaps, confusing flows, unclear states, friction points, missing states, visual inconsistencies, and blockers - Recommend practical changes that improve clarity, trust, self-service completion, use intuitiveness, and overall product quality to deliver a top-rate product - Directly implement approved changes - Work through Git using branches, pull requests, and code review - Support staging release, deployment, or environment workflows where needed - Execute staging deployment, release validation, and environment coordination - Validate implemented changes in staging Current stack The product is a TypeScript monorepo with a frontend app and backend API. Frontend stack includes React 19, TypeScript, Vite, SSR through Express/Node, React Router, TanStack React Query, Zustand, Tailwind CSS, Radix UI primitives with shadcn-style components, React Hook Form, and Zod. Backend/API context includes Node/TypeScript, GraphQL, Prisma, PostgreSQL, and AWS-hosted environments. You do not need to own backend architecture, but you should be comfortable working in a full-stack TypeScript product where front-end changes may require coordination with API behavior, data states, auth/session behavior, document workflows, and staging deployment. AWS and CI/CD experience are strongly preferred to execute staging deployment, release validation, or environment coordination. Project scope The work is limited to the current product scope, including multi-role workflows, onboarding and intake, dashboard/workspace UX, document collection, upload states, checklist and task states, form completion/export, third-party upload links, support/help flows, API-readiness user surfaces, account/access/session UX, and product-readiness usability QA. Required qualifications - Senior React and TypeScript front-end engineering experience - Strong product UX/UI judgment - Experience improving B2B SaaS and workflow-heavy products - Ability to work responsibly in an existing codebase - Strong Git, branch, pull request, and code review discipline - Experience implementing UI/UX changes from Figma, product requirements, and QA feedback - Strong understanding of responsive UI, navigation, empty states, loading states, error states, blocked states, permissions-based UX, and workflow completion - Ability to validate changes in staging - Clear written communication - Practical, cost-conscious, scope-disciplined working style Nice to have - Experience with React 19, Vite, Tailwind CSS, Radix/shadcn-style components, TanStack React Query, Zustand, React Hook Form, Zod, GraphQL, Prisma, PostgreSQL, AWS, CI/CD, or TypeScript monorepos - Experience with regulated, document-heavy, multi-role, legal, health, government, fintech, insurance, compliance, or case-management products - Experience improving products built by outsourced development teams - Experience with accessibility and usability QA This is not - A brand redesign - A marketing website project - A broad product strategy engagement - A greenfield build - A pure UX audit with no implementation - A request to rebuild the product from scratch - A request to add features outside the current scope Budget and proposal approach We are pre-revenue and pre-launch. We are looking for the most cost-effective proposal that can still deliver senior-level quality. Please propose a practical milestone-based structure. We prefer smaller milestones with clear deliverables instead of a large open-ended engagement. We care about quality, speed, scope discipline, code quality, staging reliability, and cost discipline. The best proposal will show how you can improve the existing staging product without unnecessary redesign, scope expansion, or rework. The incumbent will considered for continued work post-launch. Candidate process We will first evaluate candidates based on proposal quality, shipped product examples, technical experience, and answers to the screening questions. Shortlisted candidates will be required to sign our standard NDA and PIIA agreements before reviewing materials. After signature, we may provide a limited product package so shortlisted candidates can explain their implementation approach, identify risks, and propose a milestone plan. We are not asking candidates to make code changes before selection. After selection, we expect to begin with a small fixed-price onboarding and implementation-readiness milestone, followed by direct implementation milestones.
