Summary San Francisco, CA| Full-time | Hybrid Compensation Range: $209,100 – $234,100 annually About the Role We are seeking a Senior GenAI Backend Software Engineer with extensive experience in backend API development, Kubernetes-based microservices, Generative AI (GenAI), and Large Language Models (LLMs), along with a strong commitment to data security, privacy, and safety. This role offers the opportunity to build enterprise-grade capabilities that enable customers to safely, securely, and privately consume GenAI technologies. You will work on advanced AI and data security solutions across cloud-native, hybrid, on-premises, and open-source environments. The work involves advanced cryptographic approaches, including tokenization, format-preserving encryption, and quantum-resistant techniques designed to protect sensitive data. Responsibilities: Develop, test, and maintain robust container-based microservice API architectures running on Kubernetes clusters. Design and develop high-quality, scalable software products supporting the security, safety, and privacy of GenAI and LLM-based systems through advanced guardrail capabilities. Integrate GenAI technologies and systems, including: - Large Language Models (LLMs) - Vector databases (VectorDB) - Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines - AI agents - AI guardrails - Develop state-of-the-art guardrails and systems using agent workflows and tooling to support the safety and security of GenAI. - Monitor, debug, and troubleshoot production issues. - Collaborate closely with software engineers, product teams, AI researchers, and security specialists to deliver enterprise-grade software products and features that enable the safe, secure, and private consumption of GenAI. - Evaluate and integrate open-source tools and third-party platforms to accelerate product development. Qualifications: - 10+ years of experience in backend software engineering. - Strong expertise in Generative AI and Large Language Models, with a focus on scaling GenAI solutions. Expertise in developing and maintaining GenAI workflows, including RAG workflows and prompt engineering techniques. - Experience developing and scaling cloud solutions using: - APIs - Containers - Microservice architectures - Kubernetes - Docker - Helm Experience integrating software products using authentication and authorization technologies, including: - Cloud IAM - Single Sign-On (SSO) - JWT - OAuth - Strong Python skills. Experience working in cloud environments such as: - AWS - Google Cloud - Microsoft Azure - Familiarity with version control tools, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. - Demonstrated ability to build and manage complex distributed systems supporting enterprise solutions.
