Description
Summary We are a multiple 8-figure DTC ecommerce brand with a 40 to 50 person fully remote team. We run serious volume on Shopify, and we are looking for a senior Shopify backend developer to own and scale the backend that everything runs on. This is a full-time, long-term role (40 hours per week), not a one-off project. We want someone who builds infrastructure the whole team can actually use and maintain, and who documents their work properly, so nothing lives as a black box in one person's head. What you will own: * Custom bundles and bundle selectors * Shopify Flows * Shopify Locations and multi-location inventory * Backend architecture: Admin API, GraphQL, webhooks, metafields and metaobjects * Third-party and inventory integrations * Scalable, well-documented systems the rest of the team can build on If you are open to it, there is also ongoing work beyond core Shopify: * Automation projects across our other tools * AI workflows and automations What we are looking for: * Senior-level, deep Shopify backend expertise across the areas above * Someone who drives projects end to end: takes a goal, owns it, and ships without being chased * Proactive, clear communication (you flag blockers early and keep people updated without being asked) * Strong documentation habits * Reliable, consistent availability through the work week Nice to have: * Experience building automations and AI workflows * Experience integrating Shopify with ERP, inventory, or fulfillment systems What you get: * Stable, long-term, full-time work with an established brand doing real volume * Real ownership and autonomy over the backend * A capable team that ships If this sounds like you, share a few examples of backend Shopify systems you have personally built and owned.
