Description
Summary Fractional Technical Advisor / Sounding Board for Founder (EdTech/HealthTech SaaS) I'm the founder and CEO of a fast-growing UK EdTech and HealthTech company (300+ schools, clinical services in progress). I'm non-technical on the build side, and I need an experienced, independent technical advisor to be my second pair of eyes on architecture, infrastructure and key technical decisions. This is not a coding role. I have development resource. What I'm missing is a senior, neutral voice who can help me make good calls and ask the right questions. I would prefer someone totally independent than someone who is part of an agency. What I need help with right now: A straight read on whether our current architecture is sized correctly for our stage (our stack includes TypeScript, Vue, Node/Elysia, Supabase, and a Kubernetes cluster on DigitalOcean, plus a legacy PHP/Laravel product we plan to migrate). Sanity-checking a proposed cloud migration, including the real cost picture once incentives expire and any lock-in implications. Helping me scope and later assess an in-house engineering hire. Being someone I can bring specific decisions to and get a clear, honest opinion. Who I'm looking for: Genuinely senior. You've built or scaled small SaaS products and can talk architecture and cloud cost tradeoffs with confidence. Independent. You work as an individual, not as a front for an agency or dev shop. You will not be pitching me your team. Commercially fluent. You understand that technical decisions are business decisions, especially for a bootstrapped company watching its costs. Bonus if you've seen companies transition from agency-built to in-house engineering before, or worked anywhere handling sensitive data (we're ISO 27001 certified, with clinical/health data and CQC registration in progress). Commitment: Light and flexible. A few hours a month on retainer, or ad hoc as decisions come up. UK or UK-friendly timezone preferred for calls.
