Description

Summary We use LearnUpon as our LMS, which recently added a new eCommerce platform (powered by Spree) that supports bulk purchasing. We need a developer to blend the existing functionality and new functionality, automate workflows, and build a middle dashboard on top of this so that companies can buy training in bulk, self-organize into manager-led groups, and manage their own staff lists — without our team having to manually provision anything. (We currently manually provision everything, and it is no longer sustainable) Additional project details can be found in the attached document and API documentation is here: LearnUpon: https://docs.learnupon.com/api/ Spree: https://spreecommerce.org/docs (Though, Spree is integrated with LearnUpon so I'm not sure how this impacts what is available within their API) Required Skills • Strong experience with RESTful APIs and webhook-driven architectures • Comfortable with HTTP Basic Auth (LearnUpon's API auth model) • JSON request/response handling, including batch/bulk operations • Experience integrating a commerce platform (ideally Spree/Ruby on Rails REST API, or comparable) with a third-party SaaS API • Experience designing a data model to track relationships an external API doesn't natively support (manager → group → staff) • Front-end/dashboard development experience — this includes building a manager-facing web dashboard, not just backend/API work • Bonus: prior LMS integration experience (LearnUpon, Docebo, TalentLMS, etc.) or prior Spree Commerce experience Deliverables • Working end-to-end flows for both new and existing managers • A manager-facing dashboard (web-based) for staff/group management and seat assignment • Middleware/backend service (language/stack open, but should fit within our existing services — Zoho CRM, WordPress for the website) • Basic admin visibility/logging so your team can see manager-group-staff state and troubleshoot • Documentation of the integration (endpoints used, auth setup, data model, webhook handlers) Nice to Have • Suggestions on handling edge cases: partial seat purchases, manager churn/offboarding, re-purchases/top-ups, invite expiration/resend
