About the Role We are seeking an experienced individual to join our dedicated engineering team to maintain, optimize, and scale high-performing web applications. Unlike modern stack setups reliant on heavy external frameworks, our core architecture leverages the raw power of Vanilla PHP Object-Oriented Development on a classic LAMP stack. Depending on your experience level (Developer vs. Tech Lead), you will either own end-to-end feature delivery or take full ownership of architectural decisions, code quality, and team mentorship—all while communicating fluently in French. 2. Key Responsibilities Core Backend Engineering: Design, build, and optimize clean, secure, and maintainable Object-Oriented PHP code without the use of third-party frameworks. Stack Optimization: Manage and fine-tune the classic LAMP environment (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) for maximum speed, security, and uptime. Database Architecture: Write complex, optimized SQL queries, design database schemas, and manage data indexing/caching in MySQL. Technical Leadership (Tech Lead Only): Lead architectural strategy, enforce strict code review standards, mentor developers, and translate business requirements into technical roadmaps. Code Quality: Enforce design patterns and writing standards appropriate for standalone Object-Oriented systems to prevent technical debt. Cross-functional Alignment: Act as the primary technical point of contact, seamlessly communicating complex engineering paradigms to French-speaking stakeholders. 3. Requirements Experience: Minimum 5 years for the Developer track; 10+ years with proven leadership history for the Tech Lead track. Language Proficiency: Fluent or Native French speaker with excellent technical English skills. Vanilla PHP Mastery: Advanced, production-tested knowledge of Object-Oriented PHP development from scratch (No Laravel, Symfony, or CodeIgniter dependencies). Deep LAMP Stack Knowledge: Solid experience configuring and maintaining Linux servers, Apache web configurations, and PHP runtimes. Relational Database Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of MySQL—query tuning, architecture design, and database performance optimization. Software Foundations: Mastery of version control (Git), security best practices (SQL injection prevention, XSS mitigation), and debugging complex legacy systems.
