Description

Needs to hire 5 Freelancers Summary Senior AI Systems Engineer Senior AI Systems Engineer for AI Workflow, Microsoft Stack, RAG, and Document Automation Projects Job Description 1st Street Partnerships is building a trusted bench of senior technical implementation partners for upcoming AI enablement and workflow automation engagements. Our team leads client strategy, AI adoption, discovery, and process analysis. We also work with AI architecture partners who help define current-state processes, future-state processes, feasibility, and build-vs-buy recommendations. We are looking for senior engineers who can turn that architecture into secure, practical, maintainable solutions. This is a project-based bench opportunity. We are identifying strong technical partners now so we can move quickly when client implementation work is scoped. The first step may be a paid diagnostic, technical review, architecture review, or small prototype task. Strong fits will be considered for future client projects. This role is best for someone with strong experience in Microsoft-based environments, enterprise workflow automation, AI-assisted document workflows, RAG/document retrieval, OCR/data extraction, and secure internal tools. You should be able to work with process maps and business requirements, evaluate technical options, recommend a practical build path, and implement or prototype solutions that client IT teams can understand and maintain. Types of Client Problems Examples of the kinds of work we may need support on: * AI-assisted document retrieval and knowledge search * RAG-style systems connected to organizational documents * Microsoft Graph-based workflow applications * SharePoint document workflows * Copilot Studio or Power Platform solutions * OCR/data extraction from structured or semi-structured documents * Internal memo or report drafting workflows using approved data sources * Workflow automation across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Salesforce, accounting tools, or other systems * Human-in-the-loop review systems * Prototypes that help leadership and IT decide whether to build, buy, or scale Required Experience Please apply only if you have hands-on experience with several of the following: * Microsoft Graph * Azure * SharePoint architecture or document management * Power Automate * Power Apps * Power BI * Copilot Studio * Azure AI Search or similar retrieval architecture * RAG/document retrieval systems * OCR or structured data extraction * API integrations * Identity, permissions, and access control * Enterprise security and maintainability considerations * Technical documentation What We Value We are looking for a senior builder with strong technical judgment. The right person can explain tradeoffs clearly, avoid unnecessary complexity, and help clients understand whether they should build internally, buy a tool, prototype first, or solve the problem with a simpler workflow improvement. You may interact with client IT teams on some projects, so clear communication matters. You do not need to lead the client relationship, but you should be able to hold a technical conversation with a systems lead. How We Work 1st Street Partnerships owns the client relationship, strategy, adoption, and overall engagement. Our architecture partners help define the problem and recommended direction. Your role would be to support technical solutioning, prototyping, buildout, and implementation where needed. Future work will be scoped project by project based on signed client needs. Initial Engagement The first step may be a paid diagnostic or technical review. Example first assignment: Review a fictionalized client scenario and produce a short technical recommendation covering: * Build-vs-buy considerations * Likely architecture options * Data readiness questions * Security and access risks * Tools or platforms to consider * Likely implementation roles * What would need to be clarified before build To Apply Please include: 1. A short summary of your Microsoft/AI systems experience 2. 2–3 examples of similar AI workflow, RAG, document automation, or Microsoft-stack projects 3. Which Microsoft tools and Azure services you are strongest in 4. Your experience with RAG, OCR, document retrieval, or AI-assisted knowledge systems 5. Your experience working with client IT teams or enterprise environments 6. Whether you see yourself as more of a solution architect, implementation engineer, automation builder, or full-stack AI application developer 7. Your hourly rate or preferred project pricing structure 8. Your availability over the next 4–8 weeks Short Test Question Please answer this in your proposal: A client has SharePoint documents, Salesforce data, and accounting system data. Their team wants AI to help draft internal memos using information across those sources.
